In January 2004, at the age of 22, Michael von Sch\u00f6nermark was appointed Principal Bassoonist of the Konzerthausorchester Berlin. Since August 2015 he has been Principal Bassoonist of the Tonhalle-Orchester Z\u00fcrich. He is professor for bassoon at the Hochschule Luzern where he started teaching in 2017. Michael is also a member of the Quadriga Bassoon Ensemble.
At the \u201cInternationaler Musikwettbewerb der ARD M\u00fcnchen\u201d in 2002, Michael von Sch\u00f6nermark was awarded the Theodor Rogler Foundation Special Award. In 2003, he won the \u201cSchleswig Holstein-Musikfestivals\u201d advancement prize.
From 2000 until 2004 he held the scholarship \u201cStudienstiftung des deutschen Volkes\u201d, and from 2003 until 2006 the Villa Musica Foundation scholarship.
As a soloist, Michael von Sch\u00f6nermark has appeared with the Tonhalle Orchester Z\u00fcrich, Konzerthausorchester Berlin, the M\u00fcnchener Kammerochester, the Konzerthaus Kammerorchester
and the Th\u00fcringer Sinfoniker. As chamber musician he regularly participates at festivals like the Schwetzinger Festspielen, the Schleswig-Holstein Musikfestival, the Davos Festival, the MDR
Musiksommer and the Solsberg Festival.
His recording of the bassoon concerto by Andrzej Panufnik with the Konzerthausorchester Berlin conducted by Lukasz Borowicz (released in 2013) was awarded the ICMA Special Achievement Award in 2015.<\/p>\n
