C\u00e8lia Roca Matamala is a Catalan cellist currently pursuing a Bachelor\u2019s degree in Classical Cello at the Conservatorium Maastricht, where she studies with the renowned cellist Gustav Rivinius. Prior to this, she completed her Professional Degree in Music at the Conservatori Municipal de Manresa, specializing in cello with Anna Costa, while also studying with Peter Thiemann, who became an important mentor in her musical development.<\/p>\n
Alongside her main studies, C\u00e8lia has explored a broad musical background that includes jazz singing, trombone, and both classical and modern piano, experiences that have contributed to shaping her artistic voice and musical curiosity.<\/p>\n
She has participated in several international academies and festivals, including the Acad\u00e9mie Musicale de Morges, the NJO (Nationale Jeugdorkesten Nederland), the International Music Academy of Solsona (AIMS), the Allegro Vivo Kammermusik Festival, and the Vic Chamber Music Academy, where she worked with musicians such as L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Feny\u0151, Mathias Johansen, German Tcakulov, and the Gerhard Quartet.<\/p>\n
Chamber music holds a particularly important place in her artistic life, as it allows her to explore the deep sense of connection and freedom that she finds at the heart of music-making. Through her musical journey, C\u00e8lia aims to continue developing both as a musician and as a person, with a strong focus on expressive communication and human connection through music.<\/p>\n
