Nuria Gañet Benavente

Nuria Gañet is a Professor of Cello at the Alcañiz Professional Music Conservatory. She holds a degree in History and Musicology and a PhD in Education from the University of Zaragoza. A student of Peter Thiemann for five years, Nuria won awards in various national competitions during her studies, performed as a soloist with several orchestras, and was a member of youth orchestras such as the JONC and the JONDE.

Currently, she combines her teaching work with chamber music as a member of the Salduie Trio, which she has been part of for over 15 years, and with orchestral work in the Reino de Aragon Orchestra.

Nuria is married to Pablo, also a musician. They have two children and love the mountains, cycling, and skiing. Finally, Nuria is also the Artistic Director of the “Jaime Dobato Benavente” National Cello Competition, held annually in Alcañiz to support young Spanish cellists.
