Albert Giménez
Pianist accompanist
Albert Giménez is professor of piano and chamber music at the Badalona Conservatory since 2008 and accompanist at Esmuc since 2001, and more recently at the Liceo Conservatory. He has a very extensive repertoire and experience in the field of chamber music with piano.
Born in Barcelona, he began his musical studies at the age of eleven at the Barcelona School of Music, where he studied later with Joan Rubinat and with his father, Albert Giménez Attenelle.
In 1992, with a scholarship from the Generalitat of Catalonia, he entered the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London, where he studied with professors Paul Berkowitz and Alexander Volkov and chamber music with the Takács quartet. He completed his training by receiving master classes from professors Dimitri Bashkirov, Nina Svetlanova, Gyorgy Sebok, Karl Engel, and Jun Kanno.
Albert has regularly performed concerts both as a soloist and in different chamber music ensembles throughout much of the country, as well as in England, France, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Macedonia and Monaco, as well as in numerous cities in Italy, where he has been frequently invited. As a soloist, he also has performed Beethoven’s Concertos 3, 4 and Triple and also Haydn Concerto in D Major with different orchestras.
He has recorded live and in the studio for Catalunya Música, RNE Radio 2, Radio 4, COM Ràdio, TVE and TV3 and in 2008 he recorded a CD with the violist Ashan Pillai for the Columna Música label.
In 2023 he obtained the Master in Lied performance from Esmuc.
