Carla Conangla

Carla Conangla has been a cellist with the Orchestra of the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona since April 2025.

She began her musical studies at the Conservatori Superior del Liceu with Professor Peter Thiemann, completing them at Conservatorium Maastricht with Professor Gustav Rivinius. She continued her Master studies at the Universität Mozarteum Salzburg with Professor Giovanni Gnocchi.

She is the winner of the Pau Casals International Award 2018 and the Mainardi International Competition Prize 2022. She made her debut at the Palau de la Música Catalana as a finalist in the 2023 El Primer Palau competition.

During her studies, she has taken part in numerous masterclasses with distinguished professors such as Frans Helmerson, Antonio Meneses, Gary Hoffman, and Claudio Bohórquez.
Since 2022, she has developed an intense symphonic and chamber music career, collaborating with leading Spanish orchestras such as the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana – Les Arts and the OBC. She also forms a duo with pianist Clara Santacana, with whom she has been invited to the Barcelona Obertura Festival 2025.
