Astrid Steinschaden

Astrid Steinschaden was born in Salzburg, Austria.

She receives her first piano lessons at the age of five years with professor Anton Czjzek. She completes her studies(MA) at the University “Mozarteum” under the tuition of Prof. Karl-Heinz Kämmerling and Cordelia Höfer-Teutsch with distinction. Afterwards she rounds off her studies with Prof. Stanislav Pochekin in Barcelona.

Astrid won many prices at international competitions, as a soloist, chamber musician and accompanist.

She performed at important festivals in Europe and the United States(e.g. Gstaad Festival Switzerland, Berleburger Musikfestival, Società di Quartetto di Bergamo, Max-Reger-Festival, etc.) and in famous concert halls like the “Berliner Philharmonie”, Yamaha Center New York, Vaticano di Roma, Mozarteum Salzburg, St. Petersburg
Conservatory, etc.

She is invited regularly as an accompanist for different international masterclasses, like: International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum in Salzburg, International Masterclasses “Càtedra Emili Pujol” Cervera, International Masterclass Bad Leonfelden, “Bayerischer Tonkünstlerverband”, working with such famous artists like Thomas
Riebl, Clemens Hagen, Giovanni Gnocchi, Leonidas Kavakos, András Keller, Igor Ozim, Gary Hoffman, Laurentiu Sbarcea, etc.

Astrid Steinschaden is currently working as an accompanist (strings, woodwind and brass departments) at the Escuela Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC) and the “Conservatorio Superior del Liceu” in Barcelona.
