Vicens Prats resides in Paris and is the First Flute Soloist of the prestigious Paris Orchestra since 1991, which has allowed him to collaborate with conductors such as Georg Solti, C.M. Giulini, Pierre Boulez, Lorin Mazel, James Conlon – with whom he performed the concert of J. Ibert in the Sala Pleyel-Kurt Sanderling, Wolfgang Sawallisch, Daniel Baremboin, Franz Brüggen, Cristoph von Dohnany, Seiji Ozawa, Bernard Haitink, E.P. Salonen, Sakari Oramo, Klaus Mäkela, etc ..
Vicens Prats was the first flutist in the state to enter the Paris National Conservatory of Music and to obtain the First Prize unanimously for flute and chamber music. His teachers were Michel Debost, Jean Pierre Rampal, Alain Marion and Aurèle Nicolet.
He has been awarded in international competitions in Kobe (Japan) and Barcelona.
He has conducted high-level ensembles such as the Franz Listz Orchestra in Budapest, the Paris Orchestra, the Zagreb Soloists, the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra, the Toulouse National Capitol Orchestra – of which he was Flute soloist for four years – Empordà Chamber Orchestra, The Guildhall Strings Ensemble, I Musici, etc ..
Along with the orchestral activity, Vicens Prats carries out great chamber and pedagogical work, he is regularly invited to the United States, Japan, Korea, France, Portugal, Spain, Italy, etc.
He is a professor at the Ecole Supérieure de Musique de Catalunya and the École Normale de Musique in Paris.
