Ellis Thomas
Born in Wales, Ellis was accepted into the Junior department of the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester in 2012, where he studied for six years under Manola Hatfield. Ellis is currently learning with Tessa Nicholson of the Royal Academy of Music, whilst also studying for an undergraduate degree at the University of Cambridge.
Ellis regularly performs at Festivals around the UK, and is fortunate to have received masterclass tuition from such notable pianists as Einar Steen-Nøkleberg, Noriko Ogawa, Steven Osborne and Peter Donohoe. He has been awarded first prize at numerous competitions in the UK, including the instrumental prize at the National Eisteddfod of Wales, with his performance broadcast live on s4C TV and BBC Radio Wales.
Alongside solo performances, Ellis is an active chamber musician and accompanist; as an instrumental award holder at the University of Cambridge, Ellis has received guidance from such groups as the Endellion Quartet.
